Abstract or Sound Poetry

Abstract or Sound Poetry is a great place to study sound. One of my favorite Abstract/Sound poems is Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky. If you’ve never read it, you can find it here. It’s full of fun sounds and no meaning except what you put into it. This is my attempt to do the same.

Wandering wistfully weary not worthless,
Wondrous whirlpools weighty and wordless
Plagued with ponderous purchased prose,
Pissing pestilence in every pose.
Somber not sorry though surely sensitive,
Standing silently under solitary scrutiny.
