Magic 9

Magic 9 poetry is simple because of the name. We’ve all heard of Abracadabra. Guess what the rhyme scheme is for this 9 line poetry form: ABACADABA. Obviously, someone couldn’t spell abracadabra but they could turn that misspelling into a poetic form.

Escape to realms with fleeting grace

High and low upon shades of night.

Give in to temptation’s fleeting face

And dance singing hearts and light afoot.

Far from baser men will you face

A fairy’s smile will wilt your heart

And in that place twice turn till embrace

Troth be pledged and homeward fight

Or lose your will in that darkened space.
