Being Creative

Three weeks ago I talked about how creatives express their creativity in many forms. Today, I thought I’d share what I’ve been doing, other than writing.

Since that entry of 28 May:

I made Chili Pot Pie.

This is my version of a recipe came from the Central Market website: Hatch Chili Pot Pie. (Recipe no longer available on their website) Since I made it vegetarian and updated the veggies to accommodate my taste,  I have no recipe to share. Oh, and I added more heat. Love a spicy chili! 

I baked Little Flower’s Tomato Ricotta Cake.

I’ve been wanting to make a tomato cake for a while, and I finally broke down and did it. Don’t let the tomato. It was great, and the Tomato Jam – Yum!. Next time, I may try a different frosting, but then I don’t like my desserts too sweet. I also baked some Lemon & Rosemary Shortbread Cookies.

A little taste of spring! These were super light and perfectly merged two of my favorite flavors: lemon and rosemary. Oh, and butter. Everything’s better with butter. I planted a garden.

I began growing a few veggies in pots on my patio. Since they continue grown, I’m expanding. I now look forward every morning  to walking outside to water, feed, trim, and check-in on my little garden.

I picked up my embroidery needles.

I used to do a lot of needlework, but it slid away as life got in the way. It’s taken a bit of time, but wrapping ribbons and threads around needles and through fabric is once again a relaxing outlet that keeps my mind working even when cuddling with the hubby and watching a movie.
