It hard was not peeking into my social media channels, but I didn’t. And I enjoyed two weeks of quiet time. I’d like to say I accomplished all sorts of stuff: finished Midnight Bites, wrote a dozen short stories, wrote an epic poem, but if I said any of those things, I’d be lying. The last two weeks have been too sedate.
I’ve never been a social butterfly. Before the shelter at-home advice of our CDC, I spent a lot of time on my own at home writing, but I realize I miss my outings to people-watch at the coffee shops and sharing tea around a table my writing buds. I even miss searching for date-night activities with the hubby. Heavy sigh. It is what it is.
Update on my progress in getting fit: Summer’s heat cut back on my five miles of walking each day. I walk in the morning, but it’s too hot for over three miles. Waking in the pre-dawn hours for a walk is not an option for me. And for those of you who don’t live in the Austin area, summer too hot to be outside by 9:00am.
I found my old cardio/exercise CDs, and I’ve started doing them a couple of days each week. Talk about a workout! The first time I did one, I thought I wouldn’t move again.
I’m getting back yoga five days a week. My favorite yoga studio has memberships for online classes now. They’re done well, and I’m enjoying them. The nice part is, I do the when I want.
My writing goals: Well, they’ve fallen off the chart. Finding focus these days is just not happening. I’m hoping my hiatus will spur me to get back to it.
So, what have you been up to? Can’t wait to spend the weekend checking in on your sites.
Good. I was wondering about you. Hope to see ya mañana.
