Thanks to all of you who have been writing in your blogs about the need and drive to write. As Monday begins, I sit down with my fingers on my keyboard type words. One hour of words will be dedicated to Midnight Bites, my latest novel.
I spent the weekend reading through all the social media outlets I follow. My thoughts are focusing. My path may not be clear, and who among us does not stumble over the roots and snagging vines of life, but at least the sun is shining.
I have one hour set aside where my fingers will follow my thoughts on Midnight Bites. At my peak, I write in two-hour intervals, break for a while to walk, cook, clean (blah!), work in the garden, or make a cup of tea and read a book for an hour, and then I go back for another two-hour block. A friend of mine said she started her writing routine with only ten minutes a day. After a year, she was writing so much, I don’t think she really kept up with the time. She inspired me with my only daily block of time and fun, little stickers I place in a calendar to reward myself with writing. It’s silly, but it makes me feel good. Kind of like the “gold star” kindergarten teachers give.
Well, that’s where I am this week. One hour per day on just Midnight Bites. I have other projects going too, but my one hour is only for the novel.
So, what are you working on this week?
