My thanks to Dorinda and her fairy poem for inspiring today’s poem.
See the pretty little fairies dance Past the midnight hour. Gossamer wings glisten gold In moonbeams bright and brief. Past the laughter in their song, Here the beat of dirges. Gone, they left for Netherworld, To live untouched, alone. Dance with fairies, Spin and leap. The door will open with the dawn, And down you’ll follow to Netherworld To live untouched, alone. Blessed beings surround and sing, A prince you’ll be, A prince remain, In the Netherworld, Untouched, alone. See the pretty little fairies dance, And dance and dance and dance. Dancing evermore with you, Untouched, alone, in Netherworld.
