It’s been a week since the 20Books conference in Vegas ended. Hubby arrived as the conference closed, and we enjoyed a relaxing weekend together, taking in sights, enjoying terrific food, and a wee bit of gambling. Amazing the difference in my attitude after only a few days outside the norm.
COVID trapped us all and made us stay in or close to home. This wee vacation brightened my outlook on encroaching deadlines and my long list of to-do items.
Jane Austen wrote about the wonders of a change of scene and society on our dispositions. She got it right. Yes, I’m still stressed about impending deadlines, but now I see them as something to work towards – not something looming over me, ready to destroy the fabric of all existence.
If you have not had the chance to take a long weekend away from home since the pandemic began, I hope you get a chance soon – minding all local health protocols, of course.
That’s all for this month. Don’t forget, beginning in January, all email subscribers will receive a new short story each month for 2022. I’ll send you more details in December.
