Pretty Books and Cool Stuff

Hi,

A couple of you asked me why I’m releasing Home and Dragons as a series instead of one book. I’ve got a simple answer: Costs.

Okay, it’s not really all that simple. Let me explain. 

Lots of folks want a real paper-bound book. I love them too. As much as I love carrying an entire library with me in my eReader, there’s nothing like the feel of physical paper with a cover in my hands. So, those of you wanting the paperback, it’s coming.

The costs for you: By sending it to you in parts, I can sell each part for less than the parts as a entire book. You like it and tell your friends, and they buy the ebook in parts now or later as one complete ebook. Sales drive sales. More people reading, more reviews, more sales. Then I have enough to create a pretty book.  .

The costs to produce a nice looking physical book? Wow! It’s a lot. But I want a pretty book for Home and Dragons. It deserves it.Yes, I will publish a trade paperback at ordinary prices, but did I tell you that I really want a pretty book? Imagine  an image or two inside the book, a shiny cover, maybe a ribbon to mark your place. A book like this cost considerably more upfront to produce.

This will be fun: I’m going to run a Kickstarter campaign to raise money specifically for the pretty book. 

Home and Dragons has been such a grand adventure, I can’t wait for this next part. Details to follow.
